The solvent plays an important role in the production and construction of coatings, so that the film-forming material can be properly dissolved and adjusted to the appropriate viscosity to ensure the leveling, wetting, drying and curing properties of the coating to meet the technological design requirements. For a specific variety of coatings, the most important component is the true solvent, and the proportion of the cosolvent and diluent should be appropriate. In the process of construction, it is necessary to use the new matching solvent of the coating. If the other solvents are not blindly added to the analysis, the quality and performance of the coating will be damaged, and even the protection and decoration of the coating will be completely lost.
Organic solvents have different degrees of danger of combustion, explosion and toxicity. Organic solvents can enter human body through respiratory tract, digestive tract, skin, blood and other channels. Over a certain dose, organic solvents will cause damage to the nervous system, blood system and various internal organs. When the solvent is sent into the air through the evaporation (evaporation), it will burn and explode when it reaches a certain concentration, which seriously threatens the safety of life and property. Therefore, in the process of coating construction, we must do a good job of safety protection.
A, solvent and its steam must be stored in a closed storage device. When solvent is used, it must be sealed immediately, so as to minimize the volatilization of the solvent.
B, even for short or intermittent operations, it should not be in contact with high concentration solvents. Use qualified protective equipment, such as mask, goggles, gloves, etc. when necessary.
C, paint construction site should pay attention to ventilation, ventilation as far as possible in order to avoid inhalation of solvents. According to the toxicity and danger of solvents, we must strictly control the solvent content in the air so as not to exceed the prescribed concentration.
